　　2、Is university ranking important or not? Does your institution care about the position of your institution in the world university ranking? What advice you would like to give to students about university ranking? 院校排名是否重要？貴校是否關(guān)注自身在世界院校排名中的名次？

　　A: I believe the ranking is important in providing students ideas about the position where the university stand in the world. However, it is more important that student learn the strength of the university, facilities, courses and research capability available to the students.

　　回答：我認(rèn)為排名可以讓學(xué)生對(duì)學(xué)校在國(guó)際上的地位有一個(gè)感性認(rèn)識(shí)。但在挑選學(xué)校時(shí)更為重要的是應(yīng)該詳細(xì)地了解學(xué)校的專業(yè)優(yōu)勢(shì)、硬件設(shè)施、課程設(shè)置和科研能力等具體指標(biāo)。

　　3、目前在校生規(guī)模如何？國(guó)際學(xué)生的比例是多少？有大約多少名中國(guó)學(xué)生？招收中國(guó)學(xué)生的人數(shù)名額每年大概會(huì)是多少？

　　How many students are there in your institution at the moment? A: 57,000

　　What about the percentage of international students? A: 17,000

　　How many Chinese students? A: 5,000

　　Does your institution set a quota for the number of Chinese student your institution recruit every year? A: No. However, the places for Business related courses are filling up very quickly.

　　沒(méi)有，但應(yīng)該注意的是我們學(xué)校與商科相關(guān)的專業(yè)在招生時(shí)很快就會(huì)滿員。

　　4、What attributes you expect Chinese students to have when you recruit students, apart from meeting the academic entry requirement set by your institution? 您更為期望招收到具備哪些條件的中國(guó)學(xué)生？

　　Good English proficiency, independent learning skills.

　　回答：優(yōu)秀的英文和學(xué)習(xí)能力。

　　5、What kind of majors/subjects would Chinese students like to choose previously?

　　以往中國(guó)學(xué)生在申請(qǐng)時(shí)，喜歡申請(qǐng)哪些專業(yè)？

　　Business related courses.

　　回答：商科相關(guān)的專業(yè)。

　　6、What majors/subjects/courses which your institution are offering are really good but haven’t been aware of by Chinese students? Can you introduce these majors/subjects/courses?

　　貴學(xué)校是否有一些專業(yè)非常優(yōu)秀，卻不太為學(xué)生所知的？能否對(duì)這些專業(yè)做一個(gè)詳盡的介紹?

　　A: Monash University has 10 Faculties and each of them is offering very good courses and great facilities available to students. For example, the strength of the Faculty of Engineering is providing world-class faculty facilities, eg. Southern Hemisphere’s largest wind-tunnel and site of Australia’s synchrotron. Other Faculties are also providing purpose-built faculty buildings.

　　回答：莫納什大學(xué)共有10個(gè)學(xué)院，每個(gè)學(xué)院都會(huì)為學(xué)生提供合理的課程設(shè)置及良好的硬件設(shè)施。例如，工程學(xué)院能為學(xué)生提供世界一流的硬件設(shè)施，最典型的是全南半球最大的風(fēng)洞和澳大利亞同步網(wǎng)站。其它的學(xué)院也都有與學(xué)科相關(guān)的配套設(shè)施。

　　7、Is there any change on the quota for international students and the amount of scholarships your institution can offer? 在金融風(fēng)暴下，學(xué)校的招生名額以及獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金方面是否已受到影響？

　　A: Range of scholarships and bursaries valued at more than $2.5 million per year.

　　回答：我們學(xué)校每年的獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金和助學(xué)金總數(shù)可達(dá)250萬(wàn)美元。

　　8、What about the employment of graduates in your institution? What kind of help your institution provide to students to help them with find a job? Any extra measures have been taken to help students in financial crisis? 目前，學(xué)校的畢業(yè)生就業(yè)情況如何？經(jīng)濟(jì)危機(jī)下，學(xué)校如何幫助畢業(yè)生更快更好的找到工作，有何舉措？

　　A: MONSEACS – online job finding service for graduates continue even after they have left Monash.

　　回答：MONSEACS，這是一個(gè)專為我校畢業(yè)生就業(yè)服務(wù)的系統(tǒng)，甚至在學(xué)生畢業(yè)以后仍可繼續(xù)使用該系統(tǒng)。

　　9、There have been some issue about safety of international students in Australia? Any advice you would like to give to Chinese students? 關(guān)于最近發(fā)生的一系列留學(xué)生在澳洲安全問(wèn)題，您有何看法及建議？

　　A: Melbourne is selected as the top No. 3 best city to live. General speaking, it is quite safe living in Melbourne. However, we all understand that crime is every where, so I would suggest keeping your eyes on any thing or people look suspicious and report it. This is not only protecting yourself but others.

　　回答：墨爾本在全澳所有最適合居住的城市里排名第三?？傮w來(lái)說(shuō)居住在墨爾本還是很安全的。但同樣我們也應(yīng)意識(shí)到犯罪是無(wú)處不在的，所以我建議學(xué)生還是應(yīng)提高自我防范意識(shí)，一旦發(fā)現(xiàn)可疑情況及時(shí)報(bào)告。這不但是在保護(hù)自己，同樣也是在保護(hù)他人。
