Step 1: Submit an application form for review
1. Submit a completed, signed and dated TCDSB application form
2. If paid by money order or cheque, the application fee (non-refundable) of $350 is payable to the Toronto Catholic Education Board. If you pay by telegraphic transfer, please add $40.
3. Copies of translated transcripts or school transcripts from the past two years, if available, for that year.
4. A scanned copy of the student's passport or proof of origin to prove the student's name and date of birth.
5. Scanned copy of guardian's statement of the student aged 18 or above.
6. Scanned copies of notarized parent information forms.
7. Scanned copy of notarized guardian image form.
8. Pupils must submit a copy of their baptism certificate.
9. Once all of the above has been submitted, an invoice will be sent to the student or his/her agent (please add your email address at the end of each application).
10. Once the fee has been paid, a collection notice will be sent to the student or his/her agent.
Once the visa and admission permit have been issued by Immigration Canada, the student must meet with us at the TCDSB office. 80 East Sheppard Avenue.
The student must bring the following original documents:
1. Proof of identity of the guardian in Canada.
2. Original passport and valid admission permit (we will make copies and return the original)
3. Original guardian declaration.
4. Notarized original parent and guardian information form.
5. Original copy of the latest transcript.
6. Vaccination records.
Once these documents are ready. We arrange for students to go to the guidance centre for a three-hour assessment test. This test determines how well the student can speak English.
After the assessment, the student will have a meeting with his or her school to begin the new school year.
Step 2: Receive enrollment and tuition notification
1. Tuition fees may be paid to the Toronto Catholic Education Board by signed cheque, money order or transfer. For wire transfer information, please contact the Administrative Assistant in the International Education Department.
2. Upon receipt of tuition fees, an official notice of inclusion and all required documents will be sent to the student or his/her agent.
3. The official tuition fee receipt may be collected by the student or his/her agent at the company headquarters after the appointment or mailed to the student or his/her agent.
4. Upon receipt of official notification of admission, a guardian or agent may apply for a student's Canadian admission permit.
Step 3: Apply for an admission permit
1. TCDSB official enrollment notice and guardian information will be sent to the student's guardian or representative to apply for admission to the embassy or consulate.
2. All other documents requiring approval must be submitted to the Canadian Embassy or consulate.
3. The latest status of applications issued by the Toronto Catholic Education Board can be obtained by sending an email to the International Education Program Administrative Assistant.
Step 4: Preparations before arriving in Canada
1. Book your flight to Toronto at least 2-3 weeks in advance. * Students arriving later than two weeks before the start date may be delayed.
2. Submit the ticket information to the administrative assistant of international Education department as soon as possible after booking the ticket.
3. Submit all outstanding documents to the International Education Administrative Assistant as soon as possible after booking the flight.
4. Each student buys the necessary life insurance, about 500 Canadian dollars a year.
5. Make sure that the administrative assistant is scheduled to meet at headquarters and conduct assessment tests at the center.
Step 5: Arrive in Canada
1. Arrive in Toronto (2-3 weeks before school starts).
2. Report to the Continuing Education and Admissions and Employment Department at headquarters on the appointment date (in August or January) with the following documents:
Admission Permit (must be original and valid)
passport
Vaccination record
Latest transcript or school report card - translation (if not submitted with application)
3. Report to Headquarters and the following documents will be issued to students:
Registration Package
Guide center evaluation date
Life Insurance Document Pack (if purchased through us)
4. Guide center assessment tests
For students in grades 9-12; Will take place in the last two weeks of August or January.
5. Course selection
Completed under the guidance of the guidance Counselor of the assigned school.
