　　雷區(qū)一："Tell me about yourself."

　　北美的投行、四大、咨詢等名企的面試很格式化，基本上第一個(gè)問題都是 "Tell me about yourself." 或者 "Tell me your story." 或者 "Walk me through your resume." 等等。面試的這個(gè)開場(chǎng)白有多重要呢?First response = First impression! 很多面試官最后都說，一般面試結(jié)果從這個(gè)問題的回答技巧/內(nèi)容就潛意識(shí)內(nèi)定了，之后問的問題都只不過是驗(yàn)證之前的決定。

　　很多同學(xué)沒有特別規(guī)劃這問題的回答，只是簡單做了一些簡歷上已經(jīng)展示了的個(gè)人經(jīng)歷、技能方面的介紹等等，而忽略了展示自己真實(shí)的個(gè)性、思想。面試不是背課文，面試官還要看你適不適合公司文化和運(yùn)作方式，所以要針對(duì)其特色并結(jié)合個(gè)人興趣表達(dá)你的熱忱。

　　該怎么回答才會(huì)滴水不漏，做好開場(chǎng)白呢?

　　溫馨建議：

　　可以根據(jù)以下三部曲去回答問題，而且用不超過3分鐘來闡述。

　　1. 簡單開首：

　　內(nèi)容：涵蓋一些比較基礎(chǔ)的信息，包括哪里長大、哪所大學(xué)/商學(xué)院。一到兩句就行了。

　　2. 你對(duì)此行業(yè)的興趣來源和激情：

　　來源可以是：參與了 Info Session/Case Competition/學(xué)校Club/Networking認(rèn)識(shí)的人群/個(gè)人投資常識(shí)等等

　　Sample response:

　　“I participated in a campus investing competition during my sophomore year, where I did in-depth research on the energy industry and recommended investing in Enphaes Energy. Their stock later rose by 75% and our team became the champion."

　　3. 為什么把它變成一個(gè)求職目標(biāo)：

　　Sample response:

　　“I applied to [Company name] and did marketing there for the summer. I did well and have helped the company improve their online marketing campaigns by over 30% in a month. However I reflected and decided I wanted to do something more relevant to my finance major and quantitative in nature."

　　So I applied for private banking and interned in UBS last summer where I analyzed clients' portfolio and made investment recomendations. Through the internship I networked greatly internally and therefore realize my greater interest, which is to work with clients on a larger scale."

　　雷區(qū)二："Why our firm?"

　　“Why our firm?" 基本上是常問問題，而這個(gè)我們上周也提到過。“Why our firm?” 幾乎是必問問題。面試官想知道你是否和該公司的價(jià)值觀和文化相適應(yīng)。一定要讓面試官知道你認(rèn)定了他們這家公司。你要讓他們相信，如果他們給你了offer，你一定會(huì)接受。公司不喜歡被人拒絕。同時(shí)，你也需要可以表現(xiàn)出你已經(jīng)對(duì)公司和公司文化有所了解。

　　Sample response:

　　“I interned with [company name] in their [department name] department and therefore have acquired the necessary skills to develop myself further in this industry. I wish to combine my expertise and exposure in the industry and my finance knwoledge.

　　Through connecting and having conversations with many people from the field and [company name], I believe [company name]'s culture and people suit me best in developing my early stage career...

　　言下之意需要表達(dá)：

　　(1)你希望跟更優(yōu)秀的人共事，學(xué)到更多東西。You want to work with smart and motivated people. You want to learn a lot.

　　(2)你對(duì)于 [領(lǐng)域] 感興趣。You’re interested in [area of interest].

　　(3)你喜歡生活節(jié)奏快的地方。You like a fast-paced environment.

　　(4)你在課業(yè)上一直保持優(yōu)秀。You’ve always done well in XXXX classes.

　　千萬不要說另外一家公司的不好。假設(shè)你說了Jefferies的壞話，可你的面試官恰巧一年前曾在那里工作怎么辦?另外，保持積極正面的態(tài)度會(huì)為個(gè)人形象加分。

　　雷區(qū)三："What is your greatest weakness?"

　　一般這些稍微負(fù)面一點(diǎn)的問題都比較固定，只需要能提前精心準(zhǔn)備好一套自己的說辭。

　　面試官問你的greatest weakness，除了想知道你的弱項(xiàng)會(huì)否影響你在這個(gè)崗位上的表現(xiàn)，也有兩個(gè)很重要的目的：

　　(1)想知道你有多了解自己

　　(2)你有否有主動(dòng)為自己的弱項(xiàng)/劣勢(shì)做出改變

　　應(yīng)付這種表面上很負(fù)面的問題，你可以：

　　(1)正面用詞、態(tài)度回答一個(gè)本質(zhì)負(fù)面的問題，聽起來有點(diǎn)難。但是，面試官就是想看你在遇到難題、挑戰(zhàn)的時(shí)候，你的weakness會(huì)否影響你完成工作任務(wù)。

　　(2)Focus on Solutions. 用一句帶過你的弱項(xiàng)就足夠，然后表達(dá)你已經(jīng)從錯(cuò)失中學(xué)習(xí)，自己已經(jīng)在(必須是已經(jīng))如何改進(jìn)，或是你已經(jīng)改正了多少。

　　(3)用正面的態(tài)度回答這個(gè)問題，但不要顯得虛偽，誠懇還是非常重要的。不要編一些你根本沒有的weakness，甚至說你沒有任何weakness，這樣會(huì)顯得你自視過高。

　　Sample response:

　　“Well, I used to be pretty horrible at public speaking. When I started college, it was a massive problem, and I was just terrified of doing it, and I didn’t do a very good job. So first I took the small step of promising myself that I would speak up in front of really small groups, for example in class. Then, I worked up to taking a public speaking class, which made a big difference. Now, even though I get nervous, I feel like its something that doesn’t completely hold me back, and, in fact, recently I gave a speech at a conference to over 100 people. My hands were shaking the whole time, but I got really good feedback at the end.”

　　雷區(qū)四："What do most people criticize about you?"

　　一般面試官問這個(gè)問題是想了解你對(duì)于別人對(duì)自己的評(píng)價(jià)是否敏感，和是否有采取行動(dòng)去改善。

　　這個(gè)問題需要十分謹(jǐn)慎的回答。你的回答不能暗示你有很多缺點(diǎn)，也不能說自己是完美的沒有缺陷。你需要強(qiáng)調(diào)給面試官的是，無論是批評(píng)或是缺陷都不會(huì)影響工作的正常進(jìn)行。如果能提及自己是如何改善之前的缺點(diǎn)就更好了。

　　Sample response:

　　There's no on-going criticism. I'm open to personal and professional growth and welcome the opportunity to improve.

　　I had a supervisor in my previous internship who told me that I was too critical of other people’s work. I took that to heart, and made sure from that point forward that my analysis and suggestions are always supportive and helpful rather than critical. More recently, people have praised my ability to give thoughtful and useful feedback.

　　雷區(qū)五："What has been the greatest disappointment in your life?"

　　這同樣是一個(gè)比較負(fù)面的提問。盡量不要回答工作中讓你感到失望或是遺憾的事情，比如在工作中沒能達(dá)到目標(biāo)之類?？梢灾v一講個(gè)人生活或是學(xué)習(xí)中某一個(gè)失望的時(shí)刻。然后同上，以正面方式結(jié)束回答，可以以“塞翁失馬，焉知非福”的角度結(jié)尾。

　　Sample response:

　　My biggest disappointment is that I wasn’t able to follow my dream of being a professional dancer. I was injured as a teenager during a performance, and was never able to move quite as fluidly again. Even though I was disappointed at the time, I realize now that if I had taken that direction, I would not have my advanced degrees and a career I love.

　　雷區(qū)六："Tell me about a time when you received negative feedback from your manager. How did you handle this?"

　　這是非常常見的一道Behavioral Question, 面試官問這個(gè)問題實(shí)際上是想知道你在工作中的情緒處理能力，對(duì)工作的態(tài)度以及其他能力。一般講述工作中具體的一個(gè)事件，就可以表達(dá)你的態(tài)度。那如何講好這個(gè)故事呢?

　　要有條理的回答，必須掌握這三點(diǎn)：

　　(1)講述一個(gè)具體的工作中遇到的問題(盡量避免說太差的情況)

　　(2)你是怎樣處理這個(gè)問題的

　　(3)最終的結(jié)果是怎樣的

　　Sample response:

　　"I had worked hard on a presentation to a potential customer in my previous internship. My boss told me that he was disappointed in the quality of the information I presented and that the customer had not been impressed. (這是Situation)

　　I was surprised as I felt I had prepared well but I asked my boss to go through the presentation with me again and explain exactly what the problems were. He pointed out outdated information and I realized that I had not used the most recent financial information in my preparation. I researched the updated information and asked if I could rework things and prepare a new proposal for the customer. He agreed. Once I had sent the proposal I followed up with the customer to ask if he had any queries. (這是Action)

　　We didn't get that particular contract but the company has asked us to submit a proposal for some other business." (這是Result)
